VITJEE also known as Vellore Institute of Technology engineering entrance examination is a national level entrance examination conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology University. The online application form is available on the official website. The candidates need to keep a check on the official portal in order stay tuned to the updates regarding the examination. The candidates can fill the application form online as well as offline. The NRI candidates can also apply for the VITJEE entrance examination.

The examination is conducted by the university across more than hundred cities. More than 1 lakh students apply for the exam every year. The applications are invited for the civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and engineering and information engineering and technology aspirants. Eligibility criteria

The candidates must have a regular and full-time education in subjects like Physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology through one of the following universities and board –

• PUC or 10+2 from any recognized board or university
• PIO & OCI holder can also apply for the same
• National Institute of Open Schooling
• Foreign candidates can apply through foreign category and NRI candidates can apply through NRI forms
• In case of general category, a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate is required and candidates must have secured at least 50% marks if they belong to the SC/ST category.
• The candidates born on or after July 1, 1995 will be eligible to apply for VITEEE exam 2018.

Exam pattern and syllabus

VITEEE 2018 will include questions on-

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology
• Mathematics
• English

There are around 120 questions from the physics, chemistry, maths and biology. The strategy depends upon the combination opted by the students. There are two combinations PCME and PCBE. The students can opt for the best course according to which the questions will appear in their examination. There will be multiple type questions and the students will get the duration of 2.5 hours to complete the examination. There is no negative marking in this exam. It is a computer based examinations which is held in three sessions.

Steps to apply for VITEEE 2018

• The first step is to visit the official website of VITEEE.
• The next step is to search for the latest notification regarding the examination. The latest advertisement or notification will take you to the online application portal where you will need to register for the examination by filling all the required details.
• The students must read the instructions carefully and click on the ‘Apply online’ section.
• There is a ‘New Applicant’ tab available which is for the registration purpose.
• The candidates need to fill the fields properly and submit the application before the last date of the application form.
• A copy of the application form must be saved for the future reference.

Fee details

• The cost of the application form is 1150INR which will also include GST charges. The online payment can be made via net banking, debit card and credit cards facility. The scanned photocopies of the documents as per the mentioned dimensions should be sent and uploaded in the application form. The selfie photographs will not be accepted. All the identify proofs should be valid and accurate information should be provided.
• It is also mandatory for the NRI candidates to send the hardcopies of the application form along with the NEFT transfer copy or the demand draft of 50USD, soon after the process is complete. A proper check should be kept on the email address provided at the time of registration as all the information and notifications will be sent on that address only.
• For filling the offline application form, the application will be 1200INR which is inclusive of GST. The offline application forms will be available in the few of the selected post offices and the VIT campuses only. The list of post offices will be released on the official website only.

Admissions Criteria

The admission is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in VITEEE 2018.The score card will be generated after the examination and this will lead to the verification of all the eligibility conditions and then the admission process will begin after the counseling sessions. Once the admit card is available on the official portal, the authority will declare the dates of the examination. Soon after the exam is held, the cutoff list and the merit list will be declared within a specified duration. The admission criterion is based on the scores scored by the candidates. The students also need to go through the courses and the admission fee before applying. There will be counseling sessions and other selection processes before the admission takes place. It is one of the most popular engineering entrance exams in India.
