When Nokia released the new N1 Tablet in China this February, the product was completely sold out within a mere four minutes. The tablet is fairly low cost compared with most of its competitors, and now users in the US and UK are anxiously awaiting the N1s release in their own countries.

There has been much curiosity, conversation, and no small amount of rumours circulating the tech blogs about Nokia’s N1 Tablet. The N1 is the very first tablet that Nokia has put forth, and its features, price and design are quite alluring.

The tablet is powered by a 64-bit Intel quad-core processor, and has a very fast and streamlined UI. In terms of the screen, the Nokia N1 is equipped with with a 7.9” laminated display, and comes with a USB Type-C reversible connector. Android fans will be happy to know that the N1 runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop platform and comes with the Nokia Z launcher preinstalled.

With its new tablet, Nokia is also promoting the Nokia Z launcher, a home screen designed to make the tablet or smartphone experience a seamless one. One simply has to scribble a letter, and the app or function that you are looking for will come up instantly. As you use the Z launcher interface, the device will eventually adapt to your preferences.

Design is always important when it comes to gadgets, and the Nokia N1 does not falter here either. The tablet is made with a one-piece aluminum body that has a very fine feel and a sleek look. It is also remarkably thin and light to carry. Some critics have noted that the look is very similar to the iPad Mini, which is not necessarily a bad thing, and if anything means that the design is on par with the best 7” tablets out there.

Of course Nokia has yet to announce the official release date for the UK, as well as the pricing that is bound to come with it. However, much talk on the internet suggests that the price for the Nokia N1 Tablet in the UK will be around £219.
